We are delighted to have received planning permission for our proposals, developed with partners Levitt Bernstein and Proctor & Matthews Architects, for the comprehensive regeneration of the Eastfields Estate in Mitcham, London.
Eastfields is one of three neighbourhoods in Clarion Housing Group's £1bn Merton Regeneration Project. The plans for around 2,800 new homes across the neighbourhoods were given the green light by Merton Council on Thursday 8th March, 2018.
These proposals will see all existing tenants and resident homeowners who wish to remain rehoused. In addition, the project will generate 1,800 properties for sale and rent, helping boost Merton’s supply of high-quality new housing.
Roddy Langmuir, Design Director for our Eastfields proposals said:
"Great news - really looking forward to developing this plan into a wonderful neighbourhood for the residents of Eastfields. With the investment in consulting local people, and three sets of designers all contributing - it's going to have a richness that we hope will produce distinctive homes, streets and public spaces right from the start."
Bob Beaumont, Clarion’s Director of Regeneration said:
“With Merton Council’s full support we’re now able to make a start on this £1bn programme of neighbourhood renewal. We put placemaking at the top of our agenda by creating safe, well-connected streets and attractive neighbourhoods, building on the strengths of the existing neighbourhoods. We also recognise the need for good quality engagement with existing residents and the local community.”
