Completed in June this year, our remodelled Mediatheque at BFI Southbank is part of Open House London 2017. We will be on hand to talk about how we designed this free digital service on Saturday 16th September from 10.30am to 5pm.
The Mediatheque provides curated storytelling of the National Archive Collections, from feature films to documentaries, home movies and kids' TV, including many titles rarely seen since their original release or broadcast, if at all.
We won this interior design commission in 2016 to remodel and upgrade the existing mediatheque facility, which was 10 years old, dramatically transforming it into an accessible, colourful and welcoming space. Part of our brief was to improve the Mediatheque's presence and legibility within the main foyer space at the BFI, and its functionaility for people of all abilities and ages. New large high definition touch screens and cinema style seats have been installed to create the perfect environment for both casual users and researchers alike.
