On the pleasantly sunny morning of Sunday 20th September we joined hundreds of other buildings across London who opened their doors for Open House London 2015.
Cullinan Studio partners Johnny Winter, Carol Costello, Kristina Roszynski and Roddy Langmuir led tours around our canal-side studio, explaining how we retrofitted a three-storey Victorian foundry into our BREEAM 'Excellent' office.
On the ground floor visitors enjoyed a cup of tea and with some cake (lovingly baked by Cullinan Studio employees), whilst viewing an exhibition of our recent work. Thank you to all who donated money for the cakes - we managed to raise almost £70 for Maggie's.
In our foyer area the Woodpecker drawing machine was busy at work, following its debut last year. It started drawing our NLA Housing competition image and ended with its most complicated drawing to date of the National Automotive Innovation Centre - a 33,000sqm research building for the University of Warwick which has just started on site.
It was a real pleasure to see so many people of different backgrounds and ages interested in our building and to share with them the story of how it was created.
