The large workshop forms one side of a courtyard. Attached to the workshop is a house for the children (with adults upstairs), making one corner for the court.
The workshop is at right angles to an old building that forms the first side of the court. Its tiled pitched roof is a response to the manner in which that building occupies space; but the workshop’s interior is an orthogonal steel frame that makes a heavy machine shop on the ground with galleries for crafts above.
The simple section of the general space workshop is crossed to make the particular space of the house which thereby makes the first corner of the courtyard.
