Amy Glover

Communications Partner

Amy is devoted to making information look beautiful in a clear way that is accessible to everyone. She brings this passion to our publicity and communications; looking after our marketing material, bid documents and press activity.

She enjoys the cooperative spirit of our studio, finding it a great inspiration to her work – in and outside of the office. Coming from a fine art background, she believes in the power of creativity to bring people together through a common purpose.

Amy loves playing in bands, making clothes and gardening... with mixed results!

Spreading the word

One of my annual highlights is organising our Open House London event. Our studio is a wonderful place to work, with stunning views of the canal, plenty of daylight and refreshing natural ventilation. So, it is always uplifting to see how impressed people are by our conversion of this Victorian canal-side warehouse into our low energy studio. And it is a great opportunity to spread the word about our natural design philosophy. I enjoy finding new ways to display our work in the studio that will capture visitors’ imagination and give them an illuminating insight into how and what we design.

Pictures speak 1000 words

How do you make yourself heard in the increasingly turbulent melee of emails all jostling for position in people’s inboxes? I like to grab people’s attention with a graphically eye-catching invite. We regularly host talks where we invite experts to speak about current affairs in the built environment. For a lively debate, it is important for us to ensure there is a wide range of voices in the audience. That means the invite needs to appeal to a broad spectrum of people. A challenge, but one that I accept gladly.

Flexing our crafting muscles

I love making things, so I get very excited when we have a big event planned where I can let my creative mind run wild. There is a long tradition of crafting and DIY at Cullinan Studio, so it is very easy to muster up additional hands when needed. For our ‘40/70 Party’ at the King’s Cross Skip Garden in London - celebrating a mix of birthdays and significant anniversaries – we had a regular lunchtime crowd cutting hundreds of leaves out of old business cards to adorn the venue with autumnal bunting.
