Bunhill 2 Energy Centre shortlisted for RIBA London Award
We are delighted to announce that Bunhill 2 Energy Centre has been shortlisted for a 2022 RIBA London Award.
Bunhill 2 Energy Centre uses waste heat from nearby London Underground tunnels to warm homes, leisure centres and a local school. Designed by Cullinan Studio and delivered by McGurk Architects, this revolutionary project is the first of its kind in the world and provides a blueprint for decarbonising heat in potential future schemes; improving air quality and making cities more self-sufficient in energy.
Bunhill 2 is the second phase of Islington Council’s Bunhill Heat and Power project, which forms part of the borough-wide Decentralised Energy Programme.
